Pacific Island Express Services Limited (PIES) was officially incorporated in Papua New Guinea in September 2020. Since its establishment, the company has been dedicated to building an efficient, transparent, and integrated modern logistics service system. Beginning with customs clearance and trucking services, PIES has continuously expanded its capabilities and service portfolio. In 2021, the company reached a significant milestone by extending its operations to the Philippines and Lae, while officially entering Papua New Guinea’s domestic shipping sector through its appointment as an authorized CONSORT agent. During the same period, PIES upgraded its Papua New Guinea yard facilities to a bonded warehouse and quarantine-approved facility, significantly enhancing its integrated logistics capabilities.
With the establishment of the China (Fuzhou) Office and Australia (Brisbane) Branch, PIES accelerated its international expansion strategy. In 2023, the establishment of PIES Singapore further strengthened the integration of its global operations network. At the same time, the introduction of a multilingual customer service system enhanced the company’s cross-border communication and service capabilities.
Through continuous investment in infrastructure and operational capabilities, PIES has strengthened its position as a leading logistics provider in Papua New Guinea. In 2024, the company invested in the development of Papua New Guinea’s first 50,000 m² fully concrete-paved container yard. In 2025, PIES completed the acquisition of an additional yard, expanding its total warehousing capacity beyond 100,000 m². In 2026, the company entered a new phase of comprehensive growth by acquiring additional storage yards in Port Moresby (three locations) and Lae (one location), increasing its total storage area to over 170,000 m². Meanwhile, PIES expanded its fleet to more than 120 vehicles, optimized its organizational structure, advanced digital transformation, and continued to enhance operational efficiency.
Beyond business growth, PIES actively fulfills its corporate social responsibilities by fully funding an educational program for Papua New Guinean students to pursue studies in China, contributing to local talent development and building a stronger foundation for future growth.
Today, PIES has total assets exceeding PGK 200 million and a workforce of more than 700 employees. The launch of the Central Business District project represents another strategic milestone in the company’s transformation into a comprehensive logistics solutions provider.
